Bulgarian Encyclopaedia Scientific Information Centre published a new, contemporary “Encyclopedia Bulgaria” in 12 volumes. The first volume was released on November 10, 2011. The encyclopedia contains over 12,800 articles and more than 12,000 colour and black-and-white illustrations. It covers information about nature, relief, climate, geography, plants, animals, history, people, way of life, religion, culture, education and science, economy, all significant events and personalities from its creation until 2011. The new encyclopedia will be an indispensable reference book for every Bulgarian home, for all pupils, students and other readers. The editorial and compilation work is attributed to Bulgarian Encyclopaedia Scientific Information Centre at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Nearly 150 leading authors, contributors and consultants from the BAS and other educational institutions contributed to the edition. The pre-press production and artistic layout were completed by Trud Publishing House, which along with Bulgaria Media Group is a co-publisher of the encyclopedia.
