Victoria Lazova
Director
Victoria Lazova is the director of the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” since 2021. She graduated from the Faculty of Physics of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with a master’s degree, specialty “Quantum Electronics”. She started working at the “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” SIC in 2018. She has extensive experience in popularising science with a focus on natural, mathematical and technical sciences. Her professional path is dedicated to the idea of popularising scientific knowledge and presenting scientific achievements to a wide readership.

Vera Marinkova
Deputy Director
Vera Marinkova has been the Deputy Director of the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” since 2018. She graduated with a degree in History from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and after a competition became part of the editorial team of “Bulgarian Encyclopedia”. She participated in the creation of the Centre’s publications since 1988 as an author, editor, compiler and lead editor in the fields of new and recent general history, history of Bulgaria, ethnology.

Dr. Ralitsa Geleva-Tsvetkova
Editor-in-chief
Dr. Ralitsa Geleva-Tsvetkova is the Editor-in-chief of the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia”. She has been part of the Center’s team since 2011. She graduated from St. Petersburg State University, Russia (MA in History, specialization “History of Art”, “History of Architecture” and “Ethnology”) and the National Academy of Arts, Sofia (MA in Art Studies). She has a number of specialisations in prestigious universities. She is also a Doctor of Art History and Fine Arts. She works in the field of history and theory of culture and art, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, alternative forms of tourism, art manager.

Academic Vasil Nikolov
Scientific Supervisor
Academic Vasil Nikolov is the Scientific Supervisor of the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia”. He graduated with a degree in “History” with a profile in “Archaeology” at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. In 1999, he was elected a professor, in 2014 – a corresponding member of the BAS, and in 2021 – an academic of the BAS. He led courses on the pre-history of Bulgarian lands, South-Eastern Europe and Anatolia in the two largest Bulgarian universities in our country, where the “Archaeology” specialty is taught – Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and Veliko Tarnovo University “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”. His scientific interests cover the Neolithic, Stone-Copper and Early Bronze Ages (VI – III millennia BC) in Bulgarian lands, Northwestern Asia Minor and Southeastern Europe.

Radka Yosifova
Managing Editor
Dr. Radka Yosifova is the editor-in-chief of the “Natural, Mathematical and Technical Sciences” editorial office at the “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” Scientific Information Center, where she has been working since 1987. She graduated in veterinary medicine at the University of Thrace – Stara Zagora. She is an editor in human and veterinary medicine and in agricultural sciences; lead scientific editor of the Encyclopedia of Medicinal Plants.

Tanya Kadiyska
Editor
Arch. Tanya Kadiyska is a long-time scientific editor and editor-in-chief (2001–2010) of “Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences” at the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She participated in the creation of one of the largest and most prestigious general and specialized editions of the “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” as an author, editor, compiler and lead editor. Her activity is related to architecture, construction, science and the promotion of cultural heritage. She is a member of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria and the Union of Bulgarian Journalists.

Boyan Bechev
Editor
Boyan Bechev has been an editor in the “Natural, Mathematical and Technical Sciences” editorial office at the “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” Scientific Information Center at the BAS since 2015. He graduated in biology at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and editorial and publishing work at the Faculty of Journalism of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

Todor Patrikov

Todor Patrikov has been an editor in the “Natural, Mathematical and Technical Sciences” department at the Bulgarian Encyclopedia since 2012. He graduated in physics from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He worked at the Institute of Neurobiology and the Institute of Electronics of the BAS.

Simona Velikova has been a literary assistant in the “Natural, Mathematical and Technical Sciences” editorial office of the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” since 2021. Hristo Stoyanov
Editor
Hristo Stoyanov joined the “Natural-Mathematical and Technical Sciences” editorial team in 2023. He completed his master’s degree at the Department of “Landscape Science and Conservation of the Natural Environment”, today “Landscape Ecology and Conservation of the Natural Environment” at SU “St. Kliment Ohridski” in 1998. His interests lie not only in geography, but also in history and biology.

Managing editor
Milena Todorova has been working as an editor at the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences since 2017. From 2022, she is the head of the “Humanities and Social Sciences” editorial office. She graduated in Indology and Indian and Iranian cultural studies and social studies at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

Tsvetomira Emilova
Еditor
Tsvetomira Emilova is an editor in the “Humanities and Social Sciences” editorial office and has been a member of the team of the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” since 2018. She graduated from the Southwest University “Neofit Rilski” – Blagoevgrad, majoring in marketing. She participated in the preparation of the one-volume “Encyclopedia Bulgaria” and “Holy Places of Bulgaria”.
Maya Petrova
Еditor
Maya Petrova has been an editor in the “Humanities and Social Sciences” department at the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” at the BAS since 2016. He graduated in painting, mural painting and photography at the New Bulgarian University and a master’s degree in mural painting and pedagogy at the National Academy of Arts. He worked for many years in printing houses, advertising agencies and publishing houses.

Nikol Lakova

Nikol Lakova has been an editor in the “Humanities and Social Sciences” department at the “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” National Center since October 2021. In 2019, she graduated with a degree in Archeology from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, and in 2023 she defended his master’s degree in archeology with the topic “Fibulae from the Early Iron Age in Northwest Thrace”. Her interests focus on Early Iron Age funerary practices and jewellery.

Iva Staykova has been a host and editor in the “Humanities and Social Sciences” department at the Bulgarian Encyclopedia since May 2022. She has a master’s degree in Slavic studies (Ukrainian language and literature) and Bulgarian studies and has worked as a translator and editor in print and online publications.

Alexander Siklunov

Alexander Siklunov is an editor in the “Humanities and Social Sciences” editorial office and has been part of the editorial team of the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” since 2018. He has a bachelor’s degree in ethnology and a master’s degree in crises, conflicts and diplomacy in world politics XVII-XX century from the Faculty of History of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, as well as master’s degrees in creative communication from the Faculty of Journalism of the SU and library and information technologies from the Faculty of Philosophy of the SU.

Adriana Bonovska has been a Human Resources employee at the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” since 1992. She has many years of experience in administrative work and manages the entire archive and statistics of the Center.
