Strategic goal of NC “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” – BAS is continuous confirmation of the Center as a leading institution in Bulgaria for preparation and promotion of high-quality encyclopedic editions. NCBE works actively in the direction of strengthening the educational activity and providing systematized and rich scientific information about the world and about Bulgaria, for presenting the world and Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage and natural attractions. An important cause of the Center is the presentation and popularization of the development of Bulgarian science among broad social strata, not only in the country, but also abroad – both among the Bulgarian communities and among the active population outside Bulgaria as a whole.

For the realization of its strategic goal, the “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” NC works actively in several main directions:

• Preparation of new encyclopedic editions and reference books on current topics of interest and benefit to society;
• Participation in national and European programs and projects related to the main subject of activity of the National Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia”;
• Development of the NCBE’s online presence in the public space.

NC “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” has a high level of expertise and deep knowledge in the preparation of encyclopedic editions and reference books, understands the needs of the market for such encyclopedic editions and has lasting connections with the units of the BAS and with prominent and globally recognized scientists from the Academy and higher education institutions establishments in Bulgaria. The growth of NCBE undoubtedly contributes to the attraction of young and highly educated personnel in all spheres of scientific knowledge, active contacts with the institutes and independent units of the BAS, with leading publishing houses, foundations and state institutions, as well as the increased enforcement of the name of NCBE in the public space and increasing the level of recognition of the activities and publications of the “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” as part of the leading role of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the development of Bulgarian society and popularizing the achievements of the Academy for the benefit of society.
