1. Introduction
In 2016, the European Union officially adopted the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which harmonizes European legislation in this area. The regulation entered into force on May 25, 2018 and regulates the protection of natural persons in relation to the processing of personal data and their free movement. The term “Personal Data” includes any information about a specific person or entity whose identity can be determined – name, contact details, biographical details.
This Privacy Policy describes how and why the Scientific Information Center (NIS) “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” at the BAS collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal data. It also explains your rights.
Please note that the Declaration applies only to the personal data that NC “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” processes. In some cases, our website links to other websites that we do not control. Therefore, when you follow external links, it is recommended that you read the privacy policies of the other websites to be aware of how they collect, process and use your information.
