ELECTRONIC BULGARIAN ENCYCLOPEDIA A-Z

The edition is a modern version of the prestigious book edition “Bulgarian Encyclopedia A-Z”, published in May 2002, by the Scientific Information Center “Bulgarian Encyclopedia” at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The electronic version of the encyclopedic content was developed in partnership with software company “SIRMA” and book publishing house “Trud”. This is the first official electronic encyclopedia edition in Bulgarian. In the years since its release, it has established itself as a universal assistant for thousands of students, professionals and people with a wide range of interests. The second, updated and supplemented edition of the encyclopedia contains 32,000 articles covering all fields of science. In addition to being arranged alphabetically, the articles are also grouped into 700 categories and subcategories in the various fields of knowledge. The publication offers fast and efficient search by word, phrase, word forms, categories. The edition also includes a series of specialized multimedia resources for composers and performers of classical, popular and traditional music, as well as the national anthems of countries around the world. More than 300 video fragments of Bulgarian and foreign feature and popular science films are included. The encyclopedia is richly illustrated with over 11,000 images. The Atlas application has been completely renewed, which includes three distinct sections: a three-dimensional representation of the globe, giving a visual idea of the geographical location of countries, cities and rivers; relief map of Bulgaria with information about mountain peaks, water basins, roads and settlements on the territory of our country; physical geographic maps of the countries of the world. Readers are provided with the ability to place notes and tags in articles and to search for information on a given topic on the Internet with the ability to view results directly in the encyclopedia window.
